Mailing:  

  • L2 mailing addresses are a critical building block of our national voter file and play a huge role as a tool for your direct mail outreach or for matching your private file data matchbacks. Our mailing address lists go through intensive screen being run against the National Change of Address (NCOA) database and the Coding Accuracy Support System (CASS) certification every 30 to 60 days.  
  • L2’s voter file mailing lists are also supplemented by two consumer files which ensure you’re getting the most complete household information. The consumer information is especially helpful providing data that is sometimes left off the voter file including apartment numbers. Most other providers don’t take these extra steps causing you to waste money on mail or frustrate canvassers.

L2’s eight national phone files are built around the National Directory Assistance Database delivered to us by Verizon each month. Verizon is the national compiler for all phone companies. Our National Caller ID Database is also provided by a major national source. Every 30-60 days we receive fresh copies of the Experian consumer file from which we extract their rich telephone data along with hundreds of other consumer fields.

Voter Data

L2’s enhanced national voter file is the most frequently updated and rigorously processed available. What this means is when you’re making selections using L2 voter data or any of the consumer enhancements and overlays you are selecting the most up-to-date list of voters in that given area.

Differences from the Secretaries of State (SoS) files

Zero or limited processing. Most states and counties provide files riddled with duplicates and recently deceased voters. L2 puts our files through rigorous processing ensuring you’re getting the latest voter file information run against additional third-party sources eliminating wasteful outreach.

Zero enhancements are available in SoS files.  This means you don’t have vote history and potentially dated address information in most states.  If you’d like a phone number, email, or consumer/census data you’re going to have to add yourself which is a time consuming, costly, and challenging process and L2 has it already taken care of.

Slow turnaround times. Some states are extremely efficient but most of the time your request has to inch through the bureaucracy of the state or county.  L2’s up-to-date data is available today, right now.

Cost.  State files range in cost from a $20 processing fee to over $35,000!  We’re offering you cleaner data, enhanced with consumer/contact information for what is the same or a lower cost in some cases.

Management of the file: Have you ever opened a 4.5 Million record Excel file and then tried to work with it?  After you’d spent hundreds of dollars on professional data management platforms and hours learning to use them, you’ll still likely find yourself frustrated and stuck working with a low-quality file. Differences from our partisan competitors:

Quality of processing has been shown time and again to be less than what L2 is providing. L2’s scores of checks make our voter file significantly smaller which eliminates waste for your voter contact programs. Partisan providers which are propped up by the parties or third parties don’t have an incentive to make the data available. Their processing is limited or non-existent because they don’t have to be better.

Restrictions. If you are not ‘the chosen candidate’ by a particular party or party organization you’re not going to have access to even core voter data let alone party specific enhancements. Parties also may provide limited fields or significantly mark up access because you’re not in the club.

Requirements. If you are lucky enough to have access to a partisan file you’re almost assuredly going to have to give something back. These requirements including turning back over donor, survey, event, email, or other data collected by your campaign or organization to the party. This shared database seems like a good idea until you’re stuck running against your own data next cycle. L2’s system is built around protecting your data and not sharing it with other organizations that may not share your mission.

Consumer and contact information is limited from partisan providers. These providers focus more on the research side of data rather then building out a robust core file. The core file from L2 includes consumer data from multiple sources providing you with hundreds of fields standard. L2’s phones come from nine national sources vs. most party providers 2-3 at most.  L2’s emails come from three sources vs. the nonexistent email sources from most party files.

Platform agnostic. While L2 has built solid partnerships with hundreds of the best political tools in the industry we will work with any platform with whom you choose to work. Partisan firms and party organizations have their tools and only allow their data to be pushed to those tools because it helps them keep your data and keep money flowing to their organizations.
