Business Development, Director

L2 is looking for an experienced and driven sales leader who understands the political marketplace or can adapt their successful practices to L2’s core clientele.

Job Description:

  • Ability to engage new potential clients over the phone, in-person meetings and trade shows

  • Educate potential clients on L2’s platforms and data via webinar or in-person

  • Walk new and existing clients through every step of sales and data acquisition process working closely with L2’s operations team to fulfill orders

  • Function as a client advocate, coordinating data delivery and resolving problems by leveraging the operations team on an as-needed basis, the director manages and coordinates all steps required for client support

  • Establish and maintain timelines for follow-up meetings, phone calls, and training sessions

  • Work with SVP of sales & marketing to set goals and forecasting

  • Demonstrate a working knowledge of all L2’s data and platforms for the purpose of assessing and assisting with client needs

  • Provide support during the post-sales contract creation process, explanation of services and coordinating VoterMapping set-up, and billing

  • Regularly follows up with existing and potential clients

  • Oversees all client projects assigned from start to finish

  • Escalates issues and concerns to the EVP of Sales & Marketing or other management as needed

  • Attends regular staff meetings to report on and discuss open projects and opportunities with EVP of sales & marketing

Experience:

  • 3-5 years in sales or business development

  • Background in the professional political marketplace specifically working with pollsters, general consultants, campaign runners, party organizations, PACs, associations or other political organizations

  • Political campaign experience is a plus

  • SalesForce or background in comparable CRM is a plus

  • Excellent customer services skills

  • Ability to translate client requests into internal instructions

  • Ability to be creative and personable and articulate ideas clearly

  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel

  • Excellent project management skills including the ability to handle multiple projects at once

  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment

Other Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required

  • Ability to travel for trade shows and at least once a year to L2’s home office in Seattle, WA

  • Ability to work remotely in the DC metro area
